How to turn a 1-page brief into a full Product Backlog using AI.

I’ve cut Story Mapping time investments by 70% using AI. And no, the output is not just a generic fluff. How do I ensure a consistent output by LLMs?

To allow for this this, I designed an “AI-Ready” Initiative Brief. It breaks down product requirements into the exact components an LLM needs to reason correctly:

1. The North Star: Anchors the AI on the Problem/Opportunity and KPIs.
2. The Boundaries: Explicit In-Scope vs. Out-of-Scope (crucial to stop AI hallucinations!)
3. The Logic: A dedicated “Business Rules” section (e.g., Eligibility criteria, Rewards math) that allows the AI to write testable Acceptance Criteria.
4. The Flow: High-level User Journeys to help the AI structure the Story Map backbone.
